Happy Friday 5/24/19

Happy Friday! It’s Memorial Day weekend and I hope you have something fun planned! Garrett and I are taking a little break from renovating, trading our work boots for sandals, and taking the kids on a trip. After a month of non-stop work on our garden, we’re ready for a little downtime! Of course with 3 young kids, ‘downtime’ means something entirely different than it used to be, but I’ll take it! 😉

I’ve been thinking about this article all week: The biggest mistakes parents make according to the mom who raised 2 successful CEO’s (YouTube and 23andMe) and one pediatrician…all women. Here’s one of her paradigms: “Teach your kids to care.”

THIS kitchen transformation. It’s the opposite kind of space than what you usually see on blogs and social media these days - rustic, deconstructed, and rough - and I love it soooo much.

I’ve been waiting for Memorial Day to do a little shopping…some new dresses and a dryer for the Poplar Cottage (I can’t wait to share the tour of this cute property!). This was a good article to read first…sales lead us to make dumb choices.

About those dresses (which hopefully aren’t dumb, but I’ll return them if they are 😉)… I picked out this chambray dress, this relaxed dress, and this cute top from Anthro’s 40% off Memorial Day sale.

Danielle Steel has managed to write 179 books…this is the habit that has helped her do it.

I’ve been waiting to see Aran Goyoaga’s kitchen reveal since designer Katie Hackworth started on it. Guys, it does not disappoint! And if you’re interested in renovating, the article is a great read. It shares what the kitchen cost (about $85,000), their timeline, material sources, and all the things they DIY’d.

Good-looking, inexpensive LED string lights can be hard to find. We searched for weeks before finally settling on these for our garden. They’re magical!

I do free workouts from this website a few times a week. Sometimes it’s a 45min HIIT workout and sometimes it’s a 10 minute core strengthener, but either way, I’m always glad I did it!

Have a great weekend!
