Happy Friday 7/5/19

Happy Friday! I hope you’re having a nice holiday weekend! We spent a little time on our kitchen remodel this week and even more time out in the garden. The raspberries and cherries are ripe so the kids graze all day long. And we brought in a work-horse barbecue since the range is now out of commission. It’s been interesting to experiment with things like pancakes and pizza and cobbler on a charcoal bbq 🤪 But really it’s been amazingly fun! I’d like to share a few of our “surviving a kitchen remodel” meals/recipes with you later this month!

More from the week…

The magic trick that gets berry stains out of clothes instantly. With all those raspberries and cherries, I’m definitely going to need this! (Epicurious)

Apparently camping is ‘on-trend’ 😆 Did you grow up camping? Do you camp now? I’m a ‘yes’ and ‘yes’ although it’s shifted from backpacking to car-camping over the years, and I’m totally cool with that. (Travel and Leisure)

This is what death cleaning taught me about life. I found this incredibly powerful. (Becoming Minimalist)

A dutch door DIY. Loved this project and I’m filing it away for later! (Juniper Home)

It took me awhile to get into this book (due to life circumstances more than the book itself). But once I did, I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend! (Amazon)

And speaking of books…the best books to read at any age, 1-100. (the Washington Post)

What a fruitarian/vegan family of 3 spends on groceries during a week. Grocery budgets are my jam and it’s always one of the first places I look when I want to reduce our expenses. (Oh Dear Drea)

A good laugh about traveling with kids. I’m going to be thinking about this one alllll the way to Minnesota on our road trip later this summer. (Family Chic)

Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, EXCEPT… I love this so much. (@katejbaer)

Have a great (long) weekend!
