Happy Friday 4/18/25

Happy Friday! How is Spring shaping up where you live? It’s really sprung around here and I can’t get enough of the cherry blossoms on our walk to school. Almost makes all that snow and freezing temps worth it ;) Wishing you a lovely weekend! And happy Easter to all those who celebrate!

Here are some links from the week…

10 old house features that deserve a comeback. I’m here for all of these, and hoping to bring 1, 3, and 7 into the Hill House.

Asked for these massage balls back at Christmas and they’ve done wonders for my sore muscles and back pain. Highly recommended!

Beyond this Southampton home’s dutch door: a British - inspired kitchen and a dreamy sunroom. And can we talk about that green bathroom?!

This is the most hated chore in the US. Would you agree?

I’ve been enjoying reading about Amanda Hessler’s new house project on Substack (the writing!)! Some of use are destined to renovate forever, I think ;)

Now THIS is a sink! (swipe to the second image) Think Garrett can make me one…?

This week we asked you guys to help us pick a vanity light for the upstairs bathroom at Poplar. And you helped us narrow it down from 8 to 10. Ha! But really, the top votes were for this rod light and double globe sconce and we added this one in our top three, too.

Saw this carrot cake with candied pecans on Instagram and I can’t get it off my mind. Looks perfect for Easter (carrots, get it?!).

This delightful memoire was such an insightful read! I found myself telling Garrett about it over and over again. It’s a must read! Bonus, the audio version is narrated by the author. (amazon, indiebound)

Have a good one!
