Happy Friday 4/25/25

Happy Friday! Any exciting weekend plans? We’re heading to Oregon to watch Garrett run the Eugene marathon! Eeek! He’s been training all winter/Spring and is so ready to run fast (especially in his new carbon fiber shoes - wow, shoe technology has come a long way!). Can’t wait to cheer him on! Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

You know I’m a fan of shower curtains, but this custom steel enclosure isn’t bad either ;) Asked Garrett if he could weld me one for the Hill House and he said he’d be down to try!

Current breakfast favorite at our house. It’s high-ish in protein and fiber and a great conduit for delicious toppings (fruit and chia seeds for me, bananas and chocolate chips for the kids, …) .

7 habits people with clean homes always follow. I’m learning that a smaller house looks messy fast, but also cleans up quick. #2 is essential!

Gigi Hadid went silver and it looks sooo pretty!

Fell hard for this compound in Venice, CA. What a sweet little collection of stunning homes!

17 ways to cut your risk of stroke, depression, and dementia all at once. “The right time to start making lifestyle changes ‘is generally not older age — it’s middle age.’” We’ve got this!

Speaking of health…Garrett and I are both kinda health nuts and we were really excited to be gifted memberships to Function Health this year. For anyone that doesn’t know, Function Health is an online testing and wellness company that was co-founded by Mark Hyman and they do 100+ lab tests yearly that go way beyond what you’ll typically find in primary care (hormones, stress and aging, metabolics, nutrients, immune regulation, lipid particle fractionation, and so much more…). We’ve been so pleased with the data-driven insights we’ve gotten about our health - the results have definitely jumpstarted a more empowered and healthier lifestyle and diet for both of us. If you want to try Function, use this link and enter code INVESTINHEALTH50 at checkout for $50 off (for new members, expires May 1st). Health is wealth!

We added a nifty gadget to the Poplar Cottage kitchen that we had at the Farmhouse. Any guesses what it is? See it here.

Who knew grocery store basil could look like this?! Next week’s goal: head to the grocery store to pick up basil and plant it in this cute terracotta pot according to all of Leanne’s tips!

One of my favorite authors released a new book and, as one Amazon reviewer wrote, it’s “Sweet. Sparky. Heartbreaking. Mysterious. Exciting. Loved it!“. The audio is great, too (Julia Whalen!). (amazon, indiebound)

Have a good one!
