Our 2020 Farmhouse Home Tour

THE FARMHOUSE

Last week, with the house still tidy from our magazine shoot, we decided to film a quick video tour. Lots of you have requested a walk through before, but somehow we’ve never gotten around to it. Today we’re excited to open our virtual doors and welcome you inside (the only kind of entertaining we’re doing during the pandemic 🙁). So come on in and check out our 1912 Farmhouse in Ellensburg, Washington.

psst: most of our Farmhouse home sources can be found here.

This is definitely a fall tour (filmed November 2020), and we couldn’t hide the season if we wanted to. As a recent visitor mentioned, “this is a fall house!”. We’re surrounded by deciduous trees and the fall brings a blanket of yellow, orange, red, and brown. In addition to the video tour, you can read more about the house and see photos from last week below.

Our Farmhouse was built in 1912 in the countryside outside of Ellensburg, Washington. It was one of the few structures in the area at the time, and housed for the family who farmed and ranched on hundreds of nearby acres. The son of the original owner lived next door to the Farmhouse when we moved in four years ago and he shared a bit about the house with us. And you have to love a small town, because we quickly found out that we had actually grown up and gone to school with his grandson. The family has shared quite a few historic photos of the property with us, which is such a rare and lucky find for an old house!

We’ve owned our Farmhouse for 4 years now. It’s a special place and we feel incredibly lucky to get to live here.

The home is just shy of 3000sf with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and all sorts of historic charm. When we first moved in, the house was a bit of a fixer. We’ve been slowly fixing it up, pulling up carpets, painting, redoing the kitchen and main bathroom, and all 3 bedrooms. There are still some spaces that need some love (most notably our master bathroom and closet, and the exterior), but it’s a sturdy old house with great bones and she’s quite lovely as is.

Upstairs has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All of the bedrooms have spacious closets (by old house standards) and large windows with country views.

I should mention that I’m mostly sharing photos of the finished or semi-finished spaces in the house today. To see the spaces that we haven’t touched yet, watch the video.
