Farmhouse Pantry // A Cabinet, Countertop, Sink, and Inspiration (+ Help Us Pick a wall-mount faucet!)
THE FARMHOUSE
We made a lot of progress on our Farmhouse pantry over the past couple weeks. We built a cabinet, prepped for a sink, and fabricated a marble countertop. I’m going to step along some of that progress today and share the wall-mount faucets we’re considering. We’d love for you to weigh in on your favorite faucet in the comment section! Progress
The opposite wall of the pantry is all about food storage (we built-in a custom shelving unit) and we knew we wanted this wall to be about baking. So we decided to continue the kitchen cabinetry into the pantry along this wall, underneath the window. Unfortunately we didn’t have any more custom inset cabinets laying around (if I had a dollar for every time I said that 😉), so we decided to build our own. Are we skilled at building cabinets? Dunno. This is our first one 🙃 But it’s turning out pretty good so far and we’re excited to see it come together.
Garrett’s wardrobe probably makes you think this all happened in one day. But it didn’t. This is over a week…all the while Garrett wore the same work shirt. Just how we roll around here.
We ordered custom-sized drawer and cabinet fronts for this cabinet, since that wasn’t something we wanted to take on. They’re spendy (our order came in at $230 for 2 drawer fronts and 4 doors), but much less than custom cabinets.
Fabricating the stone happened outside. I shared the process on Instagram Stories (I’ll save it all to a highlight)
Picking a Faucet
We haven’t ordered a faucet yet, but we’re narrowed it down to 7 reasonably-priced ones. Before we get to them, let me show you some inspiration.
Inspiration
Here’s an idea of the look we’re going for. Just imagine marble behind the faucet and no sprayer. BTW @yolorenzo’s home is one of my favorites on IG!

metal finish
I like to stick to 2 or 3 metal finishes in a kitchen (with one usually being stainless steel). The Farmhouse kitchen has brass (unlacquered for the hardware and old brass for the lighting) and steel for the appliances and faucet. For the pantry faucet, I want to stick to one of those.
Unlacquered brass turned out to be hard to find and/or expensive when it comes to faucets so I found some polished brass options, which I think will look similar (they just won’t age like the unlacquered does). Steel faucets are also super hard to find. I think there’s one on the roundup but otherwise I found brushed nickel, which will hopefully feel kind of similar. Here’s a pic of the kitchen as a reminder.

I’d worry more about matching finishes exactly if the metal items were closer, but this faucet is pretty far away from the kitchen faucet and is also wall-mount rather than deck-mount so I’m feeling like I have more leeway to pick something to go with something similar instead of a perfect match.
And I have to admit, I’m drawn to the brass more because brass it looks so stunning on top of marble and we’re planning a small marble backsplash behind this faucet. Okay, enough about metal finishes. Let’s get to the faucets.
