Getting More Organized in the Pantry

One big New Year’s goal for our family is to get more organized! It’s basically my goal every year around this time…anyone else? For 2022 we decided to start in our pantry. My baking area needed some serious organization and clean-out and I wanted to find better storage solutions for the spices, flours, and sugars we use daily. So Garrett and I started by going to our Tuesday Morning store and found some organization staples (and décor too 😉) at great prices. Let me show you around our more-organized pantry!

Starting on the countertop…
I’ve been looking for wide-mouth glass jars to set on the counter for years now and these were exactly what I had in mind. Narrow-mouthed storage containers are a pet peeve of mine and I love that these jar openings are actually wide enough to easily scoop out 1-cup. There were three of these jars at Tuesday Morning and I snagged them for our all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and granulated sugar.
Shopping at Tuesday Morning is always a unique experience. You literally never know what they’re going to have. Each store has a different inventory and there are new finds every time you go in. Last year we found Daphne’s cute cotton bedding there. This visit, we were looking for kitchen and pantry organization and found some name brand products at 20-60% off. Like these…
Organizing our baking cabinet was high on our priority list so we picked up some simple pantry bins. We did a big clean out and organization and these containers now house all of our baking spices, cookie decorating supplies, and miscellaneous sugars.
Isn’t that a pretty sight?!
Another thing I’ve been looking for are large food storage tubs - the kind you can send two dozen muffins to school in for snack time. I was thrilled to find two of these giant Rubbermaid containers at a really good price.
Oh and see that organic teak bowl on the counter? It also came from Tuesday Morning. Whenever we stop in at one of their stores I always take a few minutes to stroll through all the isles to scout out gems like this one.
And while it wasn’t on our list, we also picked up some fresh kitchen towels. Most of ours are years old and getting pretty dingy. These blue towels were perfect and inexpensive. I love the patterns!
Okay let’s do a quick open-close on our now-organized pantry cabinet, just because it makes me so happy.
It feels good to start off the new year a little bit more organized! Here’s to working towards New Years resolutions (or just goals) and not spending too much $$$ in the process!
