Happy Friday 10/25/19

Happy Friday! I’m so glad we made it to the weekend! This week felt long. Something to do with the kitchen reno that just won’t seem to quit, a stollen credit card, and a general ‘off’ feeling that I couldn’t quite shake. It left me asking Garrett, “how do we simplify’? How do we spend more time on the things that matter (see image below) and less on the things that don’t? Do you ask yourself that, too?

More from the week…

How a family of 4 makes $350,000 a year and can barely save for the future. Mind blown. (marketwatch)

An insanely beautiful Seattle craftsman. (heidicaillierdesign)

Parenting: mom’s burden and dad’s adorable hobby. This is a really interesting read and I’m guessing most moms will find some truth in it. (glamour)

The real cost of phone addiction. Holy smokes it’s worse than I thought. But there’s hope… (medium)

So…apparently you can leave Fall leaves on your grass (with a little bit of upfront work)! Or make a protective mulch for your landscaping. Or...well there are so many great uses for your leaves! (almanac)

Your job will never love you back. This one made me laugh, but it’s also SO true. (nytimes)

Oh to sleep surrounded by books! I absolutely love this bedroom. (domino)

Be nice to people. Like really, just be nice. (youtube)

One year ago this month: we sold the Ravenna house and reflected on the experience.

Have a great weekend!
