Happy Friday 5/15/20

Happy Friday! Hi, how are you? Did you have a good week? We did - nothing major, but a nice, slow week at home. Highlights included some progress on the chicken coop, Garrett and I finally finding a new show to watch (season 4 of Last Kingdom), and enjoying the kids. Not sure those are noteworthy items, but there you have it. Life is like that right now. Slower. More intentional. Dare I say, more settled (that might just be the sunshine talking)? Anyway, I hope you are well and staying healthy and taking what you can from this time.

More from the week…

My sister made these spicy meatballs in brothy tomatoes and toasted fennel (scroll down for the recipe) and immediately sent me the recipe and told me it was essential I make them. They’re on my list for next week. (modernfarmer)

“Why do I apologize for looking like me?”  One beauty influencer, who stopped wearing makeup during quarantine, challenges women to stop apologizing for how they look. Powerful. (nytimes)

Our go-to paint colors. These 5 colors cover 99% of all of our walls - highly recommend all of them!

Accentuating this living room’s low ceilings actually made it feel huge. I was stumped by the title but sold by the photos. What a stunning makeover! (domino)

Heidi’s kitchen gets me every time. Swoon! (@simpleofferings)

The pacific crest trail in 3 minutes. This is high on my bucket list! (youtube)

A bit of relief: tea and toast. This was such a beautiful tribute to moms and traditions and the power of food. What’s your family’s tea/toast tradition? I think my kids would say sourdough toast with Nutella or salted butter or jam when berries are in season. (thedaily)

This tiny barn at the edge of a meadow is pure perfection! (houseandgarden)

How to keep cut lilacs from wilting. Goodness I’m going to miss these flowers when they’re gone!

Have a great weekend!
