Happy Friday 5/21/21
Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? Garrett and I are making our way through Ozark season 2 (and loving it!) and I promised the kids haircuts and a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Should be exciting ;) Hope you have a good one and here are some fun links from the week…

Anyone else’s kids been fighting more than usual this past year? I love this solution: a surprising way to help siblings get along. (cupofjo)
Mila and Ashton’s modern farmhouse in LA. It’s thoughtful and reserved and a really cool property! (archdigest)
How exercise may help us flourish. “Physical activity can promote a sense of purpose in life, creating a virtuous cycle that keeps you moving”. Yay! (nytimes)
This week on the blog we shared all the BIG THINGS happening at the Poplar Cottage! I still can’t get over seeing the house 8’ in the air 😱
I’ve been watching Ashley’s kitchen remodel for months and it’s shaping up beautifully! Can’t wait to see what paint colors she adds! (@thegoldhive)
Love these pleated shorts! Are you into them? I’m looking to add a couple of non-jean-cutoffs to my modest shorts collection this year and these might be it! (jcrew affiliate)
This Edwardian townhouse is so fun and classic. The pops of color…the fireplaces…it’s the perfect historic family home. (apartmenttherapy)
With a dog in the house we decided to get a new vacuum. Silvi doesn’t shed (thanks to those poodle genes) but she tracks in dirt and all sorts of other things so I wanted an easy-to-use cordless vacuum that converts to a hand vacuum. So far I’m really pleased with it and my favorite feature is that it’s so light-weight that the kids love using it, too. Seriously, I found our 5-year-old vacuuming the entire downstairs twice this week! (amazon affiliate)
This cute bedroom Suzannah created for her baby girl has me excited for the sloped attic ceilings at the Poplar Cottage! (@suzannahstanley)
A couple of weeks ago @tilttopliving asked us if we wanted to know more about the antique dresser in our bedroom and I said heck yes! I was blown away by the details they dug up!
A book recommendation for you…I’m currently listening to Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi and I’m blown away by the writing! It’s so good! (amazon affiliate, indiebound)
Eek! Excited to share that our Farmhouse is in a magazine…the first ever issue of Better Home and Garden’s Farmhouse Do It Yourself. They shot the feature last November and it’s so fun to see this old house in print! You can buy it wherever magazines are sold or just peruse it in the grocery store checkout line like me ;)
Have a good weekend!
