Happy Friday 5/6/22
Happy Friday! And happy Mother’s Day weekend. Any exciting plans? We’re hoping to get into the garden and have brunch plans with both our moms. Hope you have an extra loving weekend!

A few highlights this week: our stove is fixed (thanks to Garrett, the Renaissance man!), daffodils are still in bloom, and it’s national pet month. All good things! Here are some fun links…
The bookcases in this home have me drooling! (houseandgarden)
Finally found the perfect spot for the wood mirror I salvaged back in 2018…my thrifting habit has been vindicated! :)
Fell in love with designer Jackie Kai Ellis this week, both her design style and approach (more on that here). “Jackie Kai Ellis believes that the most creative solutions are born from the words ‘that can’t be done.’” (IG, studiomcgee)
Garrett and I have been listening to this podcast and enjoying every episode! (wavve)
This was very moving: “what if trying for a baby isn’t working?” Sending love to all those people facing infertility and loss, always and especially on this mothers day weekend. (cupofjo)
The prettiest laundry room I ever did see. Also, hanging laundry racks are THE BEST and here’s how we DIY’d our’s! (@jhinteiordesign)
How to ripen an avocado. I had no idea! (thekitchn)
Harry Styles on home - well if he isn’t just the sweetest. (betterhomesandgarden)
Why your garden needs mulch (assuming you do it right). I’m going to talk to Nana about this (who is our resident garden and compost expert) but it makes a ton of sense. (nytimes)
Emily Henderson’s new book, The New Design Rules, came in the mail yesterday and I stayed up way past my bedtime reading. It’s SO good! Her approach to design and renovation is feels totally do-able and the book is incredibly useful - a resource, really. Can’t recommend it enough! (amazon affiliate, indiebound)
Have a good one!
