Happy Friday 6/26/20
Happy Friday! Goodness, June is flying by isn’t it? Even with all those “the sky is falling” feelings, time just keeps moving along. Thankfully it’s brought us here to summer. We had a kiddie pool out in the yard this week and a picnic blanket covered with National Geographics and lots of cut flowers in the house and fresh greens on our dinner plates. Trying to soak in all the good we can.

More from the week…
How to entertain your kids this summer? Maybe don’t. Consider this our plans for summer (with a little more DIY and renovating thrown in). (nytimes)
This 1930s Spanish Colonial renovation by Colette Shelton blew me away. That dining room gallery wall! (domino)
Need a good read? Here are 12 books that I enjoyed recently. There’s a little bit of everything on this list, but the common theme: they were all hard to put down!
RV travel seems primed to have a moment, and this renovated 1973 Airstream is serious goals. (sunset)
I’m obsessed with this bathroom (scroll to the bottom of the post). I have always loved that Morris wallpaper and I officially love it even more. It totally belongs in our dining room…right, Garrett?! (studiomcgee)
The perfect home: “we live in a culture of unreasonable expectations”. I am so conflicted. On the one hand I totally agree that we over renovate, over decorate, over spend, and add way too much garbage to the landfills in order make over perfectly good homes. But on the other hand many of us find value in crafting a home that we love and make our own and build a life in. So there’s that. (becomingminimalist)
Two kid spaces that stopped me mid-scroll this week: this antique bed and this colorful, playful space. (instagram)
On a Pennsylvania farm, nature is not just carrying on. “Quarantine in the country means fresh air and space, but a writer’s sense of good fortune is darkened by the state of nature. ‘What I’m observing is unsettling,’ she says.” (nytimes)
I totally forgot to mention Fathers Day last week, so…happy belated Fathers Day! Our kids put together a scavenger hunt for Garrett that led to a salad (because apparently that’s his favorite thing 😂). And we also got to spend time with my parents for the first time since the pandemic hit. Such a special celebration!
psst…keep an eye on our Instagram this weekend for a giveaway we’re doing with Farmhouse Pottery!
Have a good weekend!
