Happy Friday 7/16/21
Happy Friday! How are you? Any exciting weekend plans? Garrett and I are going to our 21-year high school reunion tomorrow! We grew up together in our small town but probably only said 10 words to each other before the end of senior year. Funny where (and with whom) life takes you, isn’t it?! 😆🥰
bowl, dress (it’s technically maternity, but it’s perfect sans pregnancy too)
Here are some fun links from the week…
It’s raspberry season around here, which is hands down my favorite season all year. We’re picking 2…3…up to 6 pounds of raspberries a night and jamming or freezing what we don’t eat. I use this easy, pectin-free jam recipe and I’m totally biased, but it’s the best!
Mommy brain is real. “Yes, we might have trouble recalling certain words or remembering the name of an obscure actor, but there are plenty of silver linings to the ways mothers’ brains change…” (nytimes)
Love this vibrant home with an easy, breezy approach to decorating! (architecturaldigest)
Why do we buy what we buy? (Vox)
Is cord swagging back? Okay so I didn’t know this had a name, but I’m a huge fan. We even did it in our laundry room and are considering it for the bathroom remodel. (emilyhenderson)
Nap time for everyone. I’m 100% down for this! (Freakonomics)
This week we asked: are two sinks better than one in our primary bathroom?
Speaking of bathrooms, I thought I had a good idea of what I wanted for a vanity, but then I saw this one by Jessica Helgerson Interior Design (swipe over to see an in-progress shot of the bathroom). Why didn’t someone tell me a vanity that pretty was possible?! (@jhinteriordesign)
This looks like a perfectly lovely summer dinner: tomato pie with blue cheese biscuits. (joythebaker)
I listened to Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime this week, and was blown away! His stories from a South African childhood are hilarious, haunting, and beautifully-told. Highly recommend the audio version if you can get it! (amazon affiliate, indiebound)
These blue stairs stopped me mid-scroll this week. The Poplar Cottage is going to need a new set once we finish the attic, and how fun would a color scheme like this be?! (jennywolfinteriors)
A few things in my cart for the big Nordstrom sale. For the record, I’m hoping bootcut jeans are the answer to long-enough, cute, non-skinny jeans. And I’ve got high hopes for those sweaters! (nordstrom affiliate)
Hope you have a good weekend!
