Happy Friday 10/18/19

Happy Friday! Whew what a week! We were assembling laundry carts and styling shelves and photographing the laundry room up until Wednesday night and goodness, we’re ready for the weekend! On another note, I bought another design book from one of my favorites, Lauren Liess, and it’s soooo good! I’ve been reading it at bedtime and it’s been such a treat! Of all the designers I follow, I think I’d like to live in a Lauren-Liess-designed home best.

More from the week…

Why We’re Irrational With Money. This podcast blew. my. mind! If you struggle with changing habits around money (like most of us) or have a goal you want to save towards, this is a must listen! (paulapant)

Show stopper! Who knew a garage could look this good?! A project like this (by the always-amazing Jessica Helgerson) is surely too expensive to make it’s way into any of our homes, but goodness it’s amazing. (@jhinteriordesign)

10 one-pot family dishes that cost less than $10 to make. “Simple and inexpensive” is basically my love language in the kitchen. (the kitchn)

Rejuvenation is running a really good deal on our favorite rug this weekend (the one in our master bedroom!). Plus there’s some great deals on lighting. Just an FYI in case you’ve been waiting for it to go on sale. (rejuvenation)

Why you never see your friends anymore: our unpredictable and overburdened schedules are taking a dire toll on American society. This is such a thought-provoking article and as someone with a flexible and often unpredictable schedule, I’m taking note. (atlantic)

Lessons learned from living in a tent for 2 years as a family of 4. Such a good reminder that life is what we make of it! (@denforfourcubs)

Promising to make dinner is so much more than just cooking. It’s a mental load, you know?! I’d love to hear your thoughts on this one! (the week)

A major study pinpointed the 5 habits of people who don’t feel lonely. Surprise, surprise, our sleep plays a role in this too. (good)

Have a great weekend!
