Happy Friday 10/13/23
Happy Friday! How are you? Welp we’re about 90% moved out of the Farmhouse. Of course it helps that the new buyers are keeping most of the furniture and rugs, but even so, I’m blown away with how much stuff we’ve hauled out of the basement, garage, bone pile, and every nook and cranny in the house. We’ve been getting rid of things right and let and I keep telling Garrett thatI’m a born-again minimalist (or at least an aspiring minimalist ;). Hold me to that at the next house! Wishing you a lovely weekend…
Some fun links from the week…
Pearls of wisdoms from older Americans on living a happier, longer life.
Fun kids placemats for Thanksgiving (that will keep them busy!). Psst: eyeing all of John Derian’s quirky, fun Fall Target line which launches Oct 15th and won’t last long!
The rise of the ‘simple-sized’ home. The current generation of homebuyers “ is in constant movement; therefore, they desire minimal upkeep and maintenance, and the idea of a McMansion is not a part of their plans.”
I’m not usually a chili person, but Nana made this turkey chili recipe for a family birthday this week and it was SO GOOD!
Did you catch all of the exterior lighting and updates we did on the Farmhouse this summer? Gah! She’s looking so good.
Do or don’t: blue-and-white checks on the floors and walls? I think they’re beautiful but imagine living there would feel like living inside an aura migraine.
And now a palette cleanser for you…a 1717 London townhouse rescued from the wrecking ball.
I read (listened to) the best book this week! Here’s the synopsis from Amazon: "A multigenerational saga that traverses the glamour of old Hollywood and the seductive draw of modern-day showbiz.” Highly recommend!
Hope you have a good one!
